Can a Jedi lightsabre cut through Superman?

Short answer: No.

PLASMA

A Jedi lightsabre is plasma contained in a magnetic field. Plasma is basically the form of matter which stars are made of. Pre-Crisis Superman has flown through the heart of a star without being harmed. Therefore, Superman is immune to plasma.

Post-Crisis Superman was not invulnerable, e.g. a nuclear explosion would weaken him. Assuming a lighsabre contains power similar to a nuclear explosion, it could similarly disrupt his invulnerability during impact. See FORCE OF IMPACT BELOW.

RED LIGHTSABRES

Superman receives his power from the radiation of our yellow sun, and is weakened when exposed to radiation from a red sun. It is possible that a Sith lightsabre, being red, might have similar properties.

Even so, Superboy Prime was defeated after being plunged through Krypton's red sun which weakened him, but did not destroy him. Therefore, a red lightsabre which hypothetically has the same properties as a red star should have a similar effect, i.e. it would injure him, but not "cut" him, much less cut through him.

FORCE OF IMPACT

If Superman was rendered vulnerable by a lightsabre, it would like create a momentary weakness in that spot, allowing the physical impact to cause damage. However, lightsabre blades, being made of plasma, presumably have a very small mass. Therefore, the force of the impact would be negligible.

tl;dr Hitting Superman with a red lightsabre is like hitting a normal human with a wet noodle.

Haven't posted in here for god knows how long. So I'd say it's about time that I actually told people what I'm doing these days.

Well, on Monday and Friday nights, I'm now volunteering with the Beaver and Cub Scouts, and also have to go over to Solihull occasionally to do some training to become a Vista Specialist.

The lawmakers who drafted the proposed legislation, however, have spelled out their own definition.

Emos, according to the bill, are from 12 to 16 years old and wear black and pink clothing. They have black hair with long bangs that "cover half the face," black fingernails, black belts peppered with studs and pins, and ear and eyebrow piercings, the bill says.

The "negative ideology" of emo culture may push young people toward depression and social withdrawal, and the movement carries a significant risk of suicide, especially for young girls, according to the bill.

Overall, I thought it was pretty poor. While it had plenty of potential (Time War, anyone?), I don't think it was acted upon. I'll give three reasons why I didn't really like it.

1) Nukes inside the Earth
2) Three Doctors (that was just silly)
3) Towing an entire planet and inhabitants back to where it belonged

Back's been giving me trouble at night, when trying to sleep, so went to my GP to get it checked out. It's nothing serious, just not used to being moved about after staying in one position for so long (see:Easter holidays)

After that, I headed over to Birmingham, which I was going to do after drama if I didn't have GP appointment, and participated in this month's protest on Scientology. It was a lot more epic than last month's, featuring such hits as Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up and Jonathan Coulton - Still Alive.

Ten years ago, on a cold, dark night, very much like tonight, a shocking murder took place on the streets of London. Although the police gathered plenty of evidence, they were unable to actually find the culprit. Some say he left the country, others say he wasn’t from this world. But one thing’s for sure: He’s still alive, and he’s back.

“What have we got here then?” commanded Sergeant John Palmer.

Constable Peter Brix replied “Murder, sir. On initial analysis, the victim died by…uh…bowel movements. However, these circumstances remind me of that case from-”

“No. That’s impossible. It can’t be him again,” interrupted Palmer, “He’s supposed to be dead.”

“True, sir, true, but it does seem to be mimicking his style a lot.” Brix responded.

Palmer considered this thought carefully, and came to conclusion, “Let’s just hope it is an imposter. Lord knows how much trouble we’d be in if it turns out The Demon really has returned…”

It was around this time that a hooded individual entered into an abandoned warehouse on the banks of the River Thames. The exterior of this warehouse was rather bland and dull, as you’d expect from a warehouse. The interior was a direct contrast to this, being composed entirely of computers and pipes. The large computers, known as PCs, were only a recent invention to the world, which allowed the user to perform tasks usually performed manually more easily, quickly and efficiently. An example of these tasks are writing, drawing and forming charts. The pipes around the room let out steam at regular intervals, like someone breathed out on a cold day. In the middle of all this technology lay a small bundle. To the untrained eye, like all people of this world, it would seem that the package was unprotected. However, that was far from the truth. The mysterious person stepped up to a plate and placed his right hand on it.

There was a serious of beeps and whirrs, and then finally a robotic voice said “Fingerprints identified. Please prepare for retinal and vocal scans.” The man then removed his hand from the plate, which retracted into the machinery, and a new piece of equipment emerged at eye-level. The man moved his hood back slightly and placed his head into the machine.

“Retinal scan complete, please prepare for vocal scan,” came the robotic voice again. The scanner retreated back into the contraption, and a new instrument emerged. This one was shaped like what most would assume was a gramophone. After this had emerged, the man uttered the words “User name TDMN, access code ZZYS-01.”

The computer responded to this by saying, “Vocal scan confirmed, welcome back Tom.”

“Yeah, whatever. Damn bot,” remarked “Tom”.

After disengaging himself with the computer, he proceeded to enter the area where the little mass was.

“Disengage security, code AQGE-02!” shouted Tom.

“Security disengaged,” came the response, “Have a nice day!”

“Never should have programmed that damn AI to be constantly happy…” thought Tom.

Tom approached the package, now that security has disengaged, and opened it. Inside, there was a strange looking weapon, and a holster. Tom put the holster onto a belt under his cloak, and then put the gun into it. He then replaced the cloth in which it was wrapped, and left the area.

“Security engage, code HQ7-RT1” yelled Tom.

To which the computer responded, “Engaging high-powered lasers. Have a nice day!”

“Hmph,” grunted Tom.

As you are no doubt aware, the internet is mostly inhabited by the wonder humans named Anonymous. Well, on Sunday night, Anonymous launch a massive raid on Scientology over the internets, and were successful in DDoSing the website [Only click if you endorse Scientology]. As a result, some random religious website has posted a $5000 reward for info on aforementioned Anonymous. Being the internet superhero I am, I am ashamed to say I missed all the raiding and epic. Sauce.
